HistoryA group of people got together who shared an interest in collectible cars. They saw the need for a Classic Car Club in the Tunkhannock Pennsylvania area and laid the groundwork for what we are today! Needless to say they became our first officers and put their hearts and souls into making us what we are today. The first meeting was held at the office of the Sky Haven Airport in Tunkhannock. It was cold and uncomfortable but the group got along well and things really started to come together. After that the meetings were held at the Pink Apple until it had to be sold. We then held our meetings at Faux's Cross Country Restaurant. We have had many cruises and traveled to many cruises as a group. We continue to promote the area businesses and have been able to do a lot for our local charities. Walter was given "Lifetime Membership" with full member privileges along with the right to be the only member to wear "the Green Cap" when we learned that he was not able to drive anymore. In November of 2001 our officers announced that none of them would run for office in the coming year. We then nominated an entire new set of officers with our elections to be held in 2002. At the election meeting we had cake and presented the outgoing officers with Certificates of Gratitude. Being an adventurous and optimistic group we moved on. Due to the tragic death of Chuck Lee, the owner of the Cross Country Restaurant, we had to move our meeting location. Shadowbrook Resort let us hold a couple of meetings there. Now we are using the Tunkhannock Public Library Conference Room. The meetings are now every 1st Wednesday of every month; the doors open at 7 PM and the meeting starts at 7:30 PM. We encourage anyone having memories of the beginnings let us know so we can update our history.
